New York, NY – October 26, 2001 — Rayhawk Corporation (RAYHAWK.COM) today announced the launch of MATUSA.org. The site was developed for the non-profit organization, Muslims AGAINST Terrorism (MATUSA) that was formed in the wake of the September 11 attacks on the United States. The site is an invaluable tool to promote knowledge, understanding, peace and unity. Matusa.org features an eye-catching splash page driven by Flash that employs visual tools to provide a quick overview of the MATUSA’s mission. Once entering the site, visitors are able to effectively browse through detailed information about Islam and more importantly uncover the truth about a religion that condemns acts of hate and violence.

MATUSA was founded after September 11 by a group of American Muslim professionals who decided to expose the truth about Islam, thus differentiating it from those who preach hate and terrorism. MATUSA’s mission has become a quest to stop the cycle of hate that prompted these attacks by educating people about Islam. MATUSA.org is a message to inform the world that Islam condemns suicide attacks and attacks upon civilians, and that terrorists who commit these heinous crimes are acting far from the ideals of this religion.

With this mission in mind, MATUSA focuses upon providing education about Islam to schoolchildren, adults, interfaith networks, and the media. With time, MATUSA hopes to make it possible for all Americans to be able to distinguish between terrorists and Muslims. This accomplishment would help Americans to stop the cycle of hate domestically (e.g. attacking innocent fellow Americans) and gain a better understanding about how terrorism is manipulating and distorting the religion of Islam.

“When MATUSA came to Rayhawk it was with the realization that the World Wide Web is the most effective and rapid modern day tool to educate the masses,” commented Han Haque, Rayhawk’s Director of Production and Creative Director on the MATUSA.org project. “MATUSA wanted to create a web site experience that was in-sync with their message of compassion and peace achieved through knowledge and understanding. Rayhawk delivered with a rapid turnaround and a site that possesses the information architecture and the aesthetics that allows the visitor to not only learn about Islam, but visually feel the message of MATUSA.”

One of the key elements of this project is to deliver an online presence with content that is always current. To achieve this, MATUSA.org has to have the capability of being continuously updated with new information and resources. This capability is provided by the Rayhawk Refresh site management tool, a state-of-the-art web-based application that allows authorized MATUSA administrators to edit and update the web site content at anytime, from anywhere.

MATUSA.org was produced by Han Haque, designed by leading Swiss web developer, Hannes Meyer, and animated by Freddy Venegas.

The successful launch of MATUSA.org today will promote the message of peace and understanding that the organization is trying to spread across the globe.
